OUR GUARANTEE
From the moment our farmers start planting the vegetable up to the point the vegetable box is handed to you,
we have given great care and effort in complying with the organic standards set forth by the National and
International Organic Standards.
Farm Protocols (Procedures)
Every vegetable / crop we plant demands a specific farm protocol. This is to better understand their nutritional
requirement and at the same time, implement an effective pest and disease management protocol. It starts with
the soil preparation. It is best to prepare the soil beds by increasing its organic soil matter. We use
beneficial indigenous microbes to further breakdown any inorganic matter and turn this into readily food for
the crops. By increasing the organic soil matter, we increase the soil fertility. Our farmers are trained to
know when the proper time to apply organic fertilizers and natural fungicide and pesticides. Our FPA-approved
farm inputs are what we use for this program. No chemical or synthetics-based fertilizers were ever used.
Another vital component we implement is farming methods that are aligned within organic standards. These are
crop rotation, companion planting and bio-intensive programs.
Post Harvest Procedures:
Post harvest procedures are methods applied to our produce right after harvest. Once a crop is harvested, it is
timed-monitor and made sure no time is wasted in packaging and transporting the produce to you. First in, first
out rule is followed. Once a produce is determined to have exceeded its allowable time due to external factors,
it is then taken out of the inventory and redirected to another market segment. We transport our produce in
separate sterile cargo bins. We do not allow conventional-grown vegetables to be consolidated with our own
shipment.
Internal Guarantee System:
Organic Certification is your assurance that the food you and your family consume is free from synthetic and
chemical pesticides. It is this strict adherence to an internal guarantee system adopted by our farmers that makes
a big difference on the quality of the food we deliver. But organic certification comes with a cost. To make
organic certification affordable to our farmers, we have devised an internal monitoring system wherein farmers
document and gather data during the planting cycle, including spraying time and application frequencies of fertilizers.
A review of the data gathered is then analyzed and processed for approval. Any deviations from the set parameters
are immediately corrected. This is our guarantee. Your guarantee.
Cost:
To make the Internal Guarantee System economically viable, farmers shoulder a fraction of the cost. A pre-agreed
amount per kilo is paid to the certifying body by the farmers. In return, farmers are then given an above the
market farmgate price of their harvested produce. Farmgate prices are then locked in throughout the year to
protect both farmers and the consumers from sudden increase of crop prices due to natural, political and social
events.
